Material

Timber

This bangle was hand made by one of our long term suppliers Earthworks. Using a layering technique, printed paper in an ELK design is layered over sustainable timber and is sealed in place with a clear lacquer finish. Made entirely by hand by skilled artisans in the Philippines.

Maker

This piece is 100% handmade in Cebu, Philippines by a family owned workshop called Earthworks who have collaborated with ELK since 2004. Crafted from sustainable plantation timber, each bead is hand cut, shaped, dyed and then polished with a natural wax-based product and the finished piece are extremely light.

Christine the owner runs an incredible business whose team is made up mostly of women. They have wonderful skills, training and health program initiatives in place which you can learn more about here.

For our timber jewellery we have managed to trace our supply chain back to the farm which is unique. With Christine the owner of Earthworks assistance we have mapped all materials, trims and third party contributors.

Care Instructions

Colours may fade if stored in direct sunlight. Avoid moisture, including beauty products. Most marks can be removed using jewellery wax.
