Introducing the Cora Sweater, one of our sustainable knits made from a blend of Lyocell, Organic Cotton and Linen. This neat fitting sweater features a ribbed neck and cuffs making for a cosy fit. Balance out the silhouette by pairing it with loose-fitted trousers and the Liva Mule shoe.
TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™ fibres divert tons of cotton scraps from entering landfills or incineration by blending a substantial proportion – up to one third – of pulp from these cotton scraps with wood pulp. These fibres require 95% less water to produce than conventional cotton and are produced with the high resource efficiency and low environmental impact of the TENCEL™ Lyocell production process. TENCEL™ fibres with REFIBRA™ technology are identifiable in yarns, fabrics and final garments owing to the innovative special identification technology designed to confirm fibre origin. In turn, this improves supply chain transparency.
Certified organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, hazardous pesticides or genetically engineered seed, which protects biodiversity and waterways and builds and maintains soil fertility.
Linen is produced from flax, a highly productive crop requiring minimal water, herbicides or pesticides to grow, making it a better environmental choice than many other natural fibres, such as conventionally grown cotton.
The fibres in this blend are naturally renewable and biodegradable.
TENCEL™ and REFIBRA™ are trademarks of Lenzing AG.
What is REFIBRA™ technology?
The pioneering REFIBRA™ technology involves upcycling a substantial proportion of cotton scraps e.g. from garment production, in addition to wood pulp, where the raw material is transformed to produce new virgin TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers to make fabrics and garments.
Based on the award-winning efficient closed loop production process as standard TENCEL™ Lyocell fiber, REFIBRA™ technology is Lenzing’s first step to contribute to the circular economy in the textile industry.
This knit was made in Dongguan, China by Cool Partners International who have their own factory, Colt Rise Apparel which was established in 2018. They also have a close working relationship with another factory in the same group, the Dongguan Kinci Knitting Factory which was established in 1992. We have visited both factories to see our items in production.
Knitwear production is highly specialised and Cool Partners are actively working with us to source sustainable yarns mostly through UPW and Novetex.
These factories are members of Sedex and undergo regular SMETA social audits.
