Material

100% French Linen

This garment has been crafted from 100% French Linen, a natural fibre from flax grown in the northern regions of France. Linen is a light, breathable fabric that is durable and strong. It wrinkles easily which is part of its appeal, it is easy to care for and becomes softer with age and wear.

Flax is a highly productive crop requiring minimal water, herbicides or pesticides to grow, making it a better environmental choice than many other natural fibres, such as conventionally grown cotton.

Linen is a renewable and biodegradable fibre. 

Maker

This garment was designed in Melbourne by the ELK team and made by Tongxiang Jimmy Fashions in China. Jimmy has worked with us since 2010 making both woven and knitted apparel. Jimmy is actively working with us to make workplace improvements to ensure the factory is safe and compliant.  

The factory is signed up to Sedex, and undertakes regular SMETA social compliance audits.  

Size and Fit

This long dress has a V-shaped neckline and an inverted pleat at the back for added comfort. We have gone to great lengths to ensure the wrap front and v neck sits well to ensure modesty and comfort. The key fit points are in the bust and waist first and foremost so please refer to these measurements to ensure best fit. Larger busts and waists may consider going up a size and likewise smaller frames could go down a size. The simple hem also allows for easy alternation if the length is too long. One of the key design features of this garment is the volume of fabric in the skirt. Linen will soften with wear.

Please note, this dress has an inverted pleat at the back that opens up when needed to allow for movement and larger bust sizes. The cross over front has a hook and eye which can be adjusted depending on bust size and the waist is partially elasticated at the back for comfort and movement.
