Large Japanese Blossom Earrings
Using traditional silversmithing techniques, this range is proudly designed and made in Melbourne, Australia.
Material & Makers Notes
The Seedlings Range is where ELK began in 2001. We based this range on botanical illustrations using fine quality sterling silver and more recently introduced an extra thick, hard gold plating atop the sterling silver. We had made this range by hand in our studio in Preston for many years until we closed our workshop.
These pieces are now made by Celeste De Matteis who was our apprentice for four years. She has since opened her own business and now lives between Melbourne and Florence in Italy. She continues to hand make these pieces for us in the same way we have since 2001.

Sterling silver is a natural material and may oxidise over time. Keeping each piece clean and stored away from sunlight and air is the best way to avoid tarnishing. Hairspray, perfume and cream should also be avoided. If the piece does tarnish, using a good quality silver cleaning solution works well. All pieces are finished with a fine, brushed look.
Another alternative to cleaning the silver pieces is to use a fine scourer with a little warm water which will achieve the same effect and remove any discolouration.
Gold plated items should not tarnish however over time plating may wear off.
