The Onda Backpack is a combination of style and substance with cleverly structured, pleated leather design. Crafted from the softest leather, it can be carried in three different ways. The curved handle at the top allows you to simply grab it and go and the straps can be used as either a backpack or adjusted to swing onto your shoulder. An internal laptop sleeve sits neatly inside, with enough room for a 13" laptop. Two more internal compartments allow you keep everything safe and the pleated wave design brings edge and style to your day or night time ensemble.

Material

Sheep Leather, Cotton Lining, Metal Zips and Hardware

Leather is a natural, renewable material made from animal hides that have been preserved and softened through a tanning process. We select our leathers based on their individual properties and the intended application. Leather lasts a long time, ages well and is easy to care for and repair. Leather will develop patina over time and gets better with age. Buying a well-made leather product can be considered an investment that supports slow fashion.

This product is made from leather sourced from a Leather Working Group (LWG) audited and rated tannery. LWG aims to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by assessing and certifying leather manufacturers. The audit protocol covers energy use, waste, water use and chemicals, as well as traceability. Chromium VI is not used in any tanning processes for our leathers.

Maker

These leather pieces are handmade in India by family owned and operated company Malhotra Leather Exports. The factory was established in 1954 when they began trading and exporting leather and leather products. It is very much a family run business with many members of the family involved in each aspect of their operation. We have an ELK representative on the ground working with them on transparency, quality and operational standards.

Care Instructions

To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use.

The dye in the leather can sometimes rub off so please be aware of this when wearing light clothing or placing the leather item on light surfaces.
