Product Details

Our Storbo Basket Bag is a large handbag perfect for everyday use and crafted from recycled leather. With an abundance of space for all the essentials and more, this laptop-friendly design features a removable centre lining with a zip for secure storage. Remove this compartment to utilise the full basket bag design. This structured bag has a flat base and metal handbag feet, allowing it to stand up and away from the surface it is placed on. This product is made from the offcuts of undyed leather gloves made for the building industry.

Material & Makers Notes

These leather pieces are handmade in India by family owned and operated company Malhotra Leather Exports. We visit Malhotra, in Noida, two to three times a year to assess working conditions, manufacturing processes and to see our goods being made. The leathers used are selected for their appearance, suitability and hand feel. Every component and element of our pieces are chosen for a reason. Linings, trims, findings and leathers are all carefully selected. Each design is both independently and internally tested by our production team, at ELK HQ.

The factory was established in 1954 where they began trading and exporting leather and leather products which were sourced from meat producers. It is very much a family run business with many members of the family involved in each aspect of their operation. Additionally, 100% of their workers are salaried.

Leathers are sourced from different places according to their properties, hardware is mostly from China, through Global Tags Asia, and frames etc. from Germany through Auro GmbH.

Care Instructions

Recycled Leather

To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use.
